In XKFS school, there is just so much emphasis on identifying the 2 black sickness star and 5 yellow misfortune star and the importance of “curing” it.
DeleteThere are different approaches according to style of the FS consultant, but the fundamental is of course as you are already aware in utilising the 5 elements productive and disruptive cycles to minimise the influence of the sickness earth energy especially in this current lower period, age of 8.
In Fengshui, the classic approaches taken is usually to first 避煞 （to avoid) the sector as much as possible and discourage 斗煞 (discourage fighting the Sha Qi head on). Especially if the bad 2 and 5 stars appear at the same time. However this may not be feasible as you know, especially if we are talking about the living hall or master bedroom. Our clients will not be too happy to know their master bedroom and living halls are “bad fengshui”, they will get very anxious and in turn, counteract the good Fengshui remedies put in place.
2nd strategy is the “neutralize or harmonise” strategy. in XKFS, that is done by applying the elemental cycles to weaken the sick earth energies, i.e. 生入 （support in)，生出 (support out)，克入 (conquer in)，克出 (conquer out). As a matter of due diligence, I also observed colours, shapes, internal Sha Qi and external landforms Sha Qi to devise the best Feng Shui setup to achieve best neutralisation and harmonisation.
In addition, just for the sake of discussion, sickness earth energy if continue to stay dormant and quiet, can still be acceptable. So we will try our best not to activate the bad sickness earth energy.
I also come to realise in Feng Shui, applying the concept of 喜神 (favourable elements)，用神 (the elements which supports the favourable elements) is very effective. But of course every house and every occupant is unique and so can’t be done many a time. To cut the long story short, I guess there is no “best ways” but as long as the fundamentals remained true, then nobody who claim to have “authentic knowledge” of Fengshui should find fault with the particular consultant’s style and setup. My Fengshui is learnt from the linage of XKFS so i draw experience extensive from this school. If you are practicing other schools, you might disagree and that is perfectly understandable.
