Why is Singapore successful? From a elementary bazi perspective. Part 1

Today is:

Dy    Mo   Yr
甲    丁     甲
辰    丑     午

For friends who are new to Four Pillars of Destiny (4P) or Bazi more commonly known, this system can be embraced as a "manual" to life.

Some people i know call it destiny or master plan, while others do are not so exposed to metaphysics will call it bull shit. :P

As a third generation Singaporean, allow me to describe 4P with a dash of"Singlish".

Bazi hor.... ok imagine one's birthday is liked a COE for a car, it is a "permit" bestowed upon you by the heaven (not government). While the COE of course, contains information about the car, the "permit" contains information about you lor.

For example:

1) The model of the car = your personality

2) The capacity of engine translation to horse power = your luck periods, how fast or slow can you run

3) The type of car e.g. van, bus, sedan, sports car or SUV = your potential on various terrains

Four Pillars of Destiny had been practiced by many Feng Shui Masters over thousands of years, based on their observation of cause and effect, formulas had been passed down the lineage which described certain characteristics co-relating to one's birthday. These are highly accurate, time-tested and proven. It is possible to achieve a pretty good analysis with good prediction capability.

Won't you want to know stuff like the time when your car is most likely to break down how, where and when? So that you can buy the best car insurance, hop on the public transport for that day or simply sell the damn thing before it explodes.

Considering the fact that my mechanic had once dismantled my car apart and still unable to find out where did that annoying and elusive "tick-tick" sound came from. Now I can just look at your COE and tell you when your car will kena a traffic ticket! Hey, hey, hey!

The beauty of knowing Four Pillars of Destiny will allow each and everyone of us, a personal "time-table" of "the dos and don'ts" ahead of the actual events happening which sometimes, resulted in irreversible outcomes.

We must try to be in control, be ahead and be masters of our destiny!!! Corny but ...

But of course, Heaven's will is more powerful than Human. While we must make the human effort to alter behavioral patterns, change habits and make hard decisions in order to improve our lives, humans cannot dictate divine timing. But it is still better to know than not to know.

4P is a cool tool. It can help to minimize bad effects from a potential catastrophic event, especially if there are some signs already showing up in the birth chart e.g. if the car is going to have an accident, at least the driver already know this and will have a seat-belt on with 8 air bags opening at the right time.  Or the driver can choose public transport for that day.

Smart right?

Ok the main objective:

SG50 is around the corner and I had recently attended an very interesting talk by my most respected teacher GM Raymond Lo.

I shall attempt to check out Singapore Bazi as an academic exercise. To avoid catch no ball situation, check out: The cycle of birth and destruction of the 5 elements.

In Four Pillars of destiny, we first determine:

  • What is your day master?
  • Weak or strong depending on the interaction of other 7 elements and season?
  • Favorable and unfavorable elements?

This is industry standard, every bazi master will tell you this as well.

Singapore Independence day from Malaysia is considered to be the nation's birthday.

9th Aug 1965

DOB: Singapore

What are the unique features of Singapore from the birth chart?

  • Singapore is a Yin Wood 乙 Day Master. Yin Wood is like a flexible tree which can grow well around a structure. Flexible and long, Singapore is born adaptable despite harsh conditions and being a small country, able to spread news very fast.
  • 乙,甲 with all the same wood elements found on top at heavenly stems. Forming the external and visible attributes. Basically this describes Singapore's image as being friendly and happily extending friendship to most countries. We welcome everyone from everywhere and this is how Singapore rolls, yo! However, same elements also means competitors, so there will always be someone out there who is competing with Singapore. Therefore come on guys, don't everything also blame PAP la, it is the destiny of Singapore! If we don't compete ,we die flat ok! But we can survive one, i tell you why!

  • Under the heavenly stems are what we termed as the earthly branches, the hidden attributes innate to the birthday but not visible to outsiders. Looking carefully, Singapore is not what it projects to the world.
  • 巳 - Performance (Conventional intelligence, following international standards of expression. Gentle expression of our views.)
  • 申 - Proper Authority and power. Singapore is a lawful place, its citizens respect the constituents and laws. Doing things by the book, no exceptions. That is why Singapore Police Force very eng one ... no thieves to catch in Singapore! crime! Ok la, not so much crime.
  • 未 - $Money$ also sitting in "house of spouse". Denoting stable income. Citizens are the intimate counterpart of a country, like a wife to the husband. The wood on top, denoting husband which is the government. Wood element naturally conquers earth element. In reality, the government/country tightly control Singaporeans, specially on how we earn/spend our money because interestingly, Singapore citizens, if you look at it this way is symbolized by money element. In addition, i guess everyone will feel the same way more or less ... that the government's signature polices are mainly monetary based penalties. You do not need to google to know that Singapore is a FINE city. Yes, we have some of the most creative laws i.e. no chewing gum! We will not hesitate to impose fine for mischiefs.  Try spiting on our beautiful pavements, it will be FINE! However i am ok with that. It is a good law.
  • In addition, the position of 未 sitting in spouse palace is an interesting factor. In a man's chart, wife is also symbolized by $ element. Therefore Singapore Citizens also represents $. Very apt actually, if you had been a Singaporean for the past 30 years - "Gahmen will give you one chicken wing and take back whole chicken" is not totally foreign to you. Again, don't blame the Gahmen, we can change whatever Gahmen wearing blue, orange, yellow but still the same one!

Ok my favorite magical moment, it is just too uncanny to be an coincidence. You know Singapore has no natural resources at all right? We don't even have our own water.....why?

Actually its predestined liao.

Scroll up and have a look at the birth chart. I look here, i look there .... i look everywhere.

There is no water element in Singapore's birthday, not in the year nor month nor day!

You scroll up and see Singapore's chart, got water or not?

Singapore got no water!!!!!! Wah lau, like that also can le! Why heaven so unfair?

Seriously lacking of water is a damn jia lat issue, in the early days remember how Malaysia used to bully us? Threaten to cut our water supply? So in a fit of anger, Singapore decided to evolve! Ok you want to cut my water supply right? Lim beh recycle lor!

So we develop our technology to recycle waste water and that solves a life and death issue for us all.

Even Bill Gates is impressed:

Omg, its dinner time. Stay tuned for part 2!
